Examples of plastic injection molded parts
Since 1976, we have dealt with many products. Parts displayed below in our gallery are only a limited selection of examples to show the wide range of products. Most images of plastic injection molded parts have either a 6 inch scale or a quarter included in the picture for a size reference.Assembled Stock
(Glass-Filled Nylon with Overmolded Rubber and Metal Inserts)
(Glass-Filled Nylon with Overmolded Rubber and Metal Inserts)
This assembled piece consists of around 20 individual pieces made from hard plastic to softer flexible material that is held together by metal screws. Some plastic parts have metal inserts that were molded into the piece during production to allow for rigid construction.
Baby Bib
Babies have the problem of getting only a little food in their mouths. This baby bib adjusts sizes and catches extra food that inevitably falls. The bib is a thin flexible material allowing for easy manueverability and roll-up for travel.
Antenna
Exterior antenna housing, mount, and shaft were all made to interlock and be installed on top of an RV or mobile home. This is only one of the many antennae.
Gears
Intricate angles on these teeth need to match-up for seamless use. This gear is part of an antenna array crank to be able to deploy the array when you reach your destination.
Helix Shaft
(ABS Overmolded on Aluminum Shaft)
(ABS Overmolded on Aluminum Shaft)
This crank shaft is engaged by a gear, whos main function is to translate rotational motion to linear motion via this molded helix. The aluminum shaft is for strength and cost, but an overmolded plastic helix is added for the motion.
Screw
A secure fit is needed for every screw. We can mold the initial screw and mold the mating threads of the screw. Thus fitting together with good dimensional accuracy.
Air Cooled Housing
Electrical components generally need good air flow for cooling during heavy loads/operations. Creating the necessary openings and rigidity was crucial. This is one solid piece that mounts to the frame.
Transformer Case
This transformer case is meant to shield the outside world from the high power lines that are housed inside. The other benefit of this case is the ability to see through the shield to quickly identify if there are any issues inside without needing to turn-off the lines and unscrew the housing.
Vampire Teeth
Sometimes you want your product's housing to really pop-out to entice your consumers. Who wouldn't want some realistic looking fangs?
Flexible Puller
Texture, lettering, and graphics can be added to any mold. This flexible piece has an added texture to give the part better asthetics and grip.
Clear Dishes
In a lab environment, parts need to be autoclaved for sterilzation. Having a clear part allows the test to be monitored without disturbing any results.
Construction Lamp
High visability products can help alert people of hazardous areas. These blockade lamps are used in traffic construction zones with an installed LED.
Battery Housing
Most portable products need some sort of battery power. This battery housing is molded, then metal contacts are installed. This battery housing holds 8x AA batteries, so there are four on the front and four on the back.
Filter Housing
Plastic parts can be made into virtually any color. This is a medical breathing aparatus filter housing, and the hose would attach to the thinner cylinder.
Foldable Glasses
This customer was tired of working with cumbersome glasses on a daily basis to see close-up objects. Instead, they created these foldable glasses that could collapse to fit in their pocket with their lenses protected.
Battery Cap
Battery cap clips can be made to attach and cover battery terminals. The added shielding prevents the contacts from discharging to other objects.
Rail Guide
Creating a completely solid piece of plastic is avoided in plastic injection molding. On this design you can see all of the supporting structures that were implemented to give the part strength in different directions. This will also make the design have less material. This reduces the weight and cost per piece.
Breathalyzer
Tough compact designs with limited assembly can be made. This breathalyzer housing needed to be compact, portable, and easy to use. All of the necessary components were able to fit inside of this housing.
Switch Cover
In your home you may have an in-sink garbage disposal that is rarely used. Placing this piece over the switch will help differentiate important switches from light switches nearby. This is also used as a safety feature for kids. This also has a memory hinge for continuous opening and closing.
Connector Panel
Electronics in a corrosive or dirty environment need a housing to protect the electronics. This piece helped the customer protect the electronics from particulates, but allow various connectors to attach.
Electrical Housing
Keeping electronics secure and safe is one reason for creating a housing. Another reason this customer needed an electrical housing was to completely submerse their electronics in resin to hide their proprietary setup.
Outlet Wall Plate
(Coax Inserts)
(Coax Inserts)
A majority of faceplates for wall outlets are made out of plastic. This faceplate requires a metal insert to hook-up coax cables. There are additional fitting tabs and holes to allow for screws to securly fit to the wall.
Hand Cuff
Plastic hand cuffs are a cheaper alternative to the traditional metal hand cuffs. These are made out of a more wear resistant material.
Handle
A product handle can serve as an electronic housing. This handle is for a medical breathing aparatus. The stand-offs help combine both halves with bolts.
Text Mouse
(TPR Overmolded on Polystyrene)
(TPR Overmolded on Polystyrene)
This mouse has a rubber overmolded grip that magnifies text for disabled people.
Overmolded Puller
Overmolding flexible material helps provide a softer contact to people's hands while the hard plastic keeps the slide tough.
Pencil Case
Kids are never easy on objects. This pencil case holds their utensils and withstands repetitive dropping. All of the hinges and latches are the same material.
Stock (Metal Inserts)
Many products require some assembly. If the product designer understands different methods of product creation, their overall part cost can be reduced. This product has three metal inserts molded into the part to help reduce secondary steps for assembly.
Flexible pad
Support structures are added to this flexible pad to make them more rigid. Additionally grooves were added to give the part more grip.
Phone Case
Most phones today are inside some sort of protective case. This case is meant to wrap around your phone and stick out slightly to have the flexible material take the impact of the fall.
